Yosemite – Getting There and the Bear

Yosemite National Park Video – Bear Sighting

This black bear surprised us on a trail in the Hetch Hetchy area of Yosemite National Park. The black bears in this area have more of a brown coat. This is probably a male judging on his size. We were pretty much scared out of our gourds. We slowly moved back and started talking and singing so he knew we were not sneeking up on him. He just went on his merry way doing cute bear things. We had to wait for at least 15 minutes to make sure that he was off of the trail before we continued.

This video shows our rainbow connection on an Idaho Highway to our bear encounter in Yosemite National Park. We also visited a few places but didn’t take any video those were:

Reno Nevada – We stayed with Ed, Heidi and Paige Adkins. They were so nice to let us hang with them for a few days and get some laundry done. Heidi is working on becoming a DJ and she took me out one night to see a DJ and for an awesome time.

Sacramento California – We got an out of the blue (and sweet) offer from Colleen and Christian Hiner to stay with them after leaving Reno. I met C and C in the Peace Corps and had been in touch on FB. We set up our tent in their back yard and played with Orrin and Eleanor for a few days before heading to Baconfest and wine tasting in Murphys California! This pic below is of Christian’s parents at Baconfest.

We ended up in Yosemite National Park and parked ourselves there for 4 days straight. The Granite Cliffs and changing leaves made for spectacular images. The weather was great for camping and I found $.39 in and around our campsite.

A big thanks goes out to the Adkins and the Hiners. May the force be with you.
